LFW: Day 3

Burberry Prorsum: AW 13

The latest collection from the British genius Christopher Bailey comes under the name 'Trench Kisses' and boy was it fantastic. Based on sixties showgirl Christine Keeler, there was a hint of her controversial life in every look.

A mix of the Burberry Heritage and Keeler's questionable lifestyle, resulted in a beautiful juxtaposition of classic Trench Coats made from Latex and Rubber. Formal pencil skirts in leopard print and sheer latex alongside cute knitwear with pretty collars was match made in heaven; Maybe something to take the edge of the kinky Keeler aura.

No matter whether this was your thing, my thing, or Burberry's thing, it's safe to say Christopher Bailey and Cara made Kitten Heels cool again.

LFW: Day 2

Sunday the 17th was the day I had been waiting for after scanning over the LFW schedule a few days ago. Topshop Unique, Mary Katranzou, Richard Nicoll, Nicole Farhi were all on for today and they were all worth the wait. The weather was beautiful and so was the FROW, with the likes of Pixie Geldof, Kate Bosworth, Nicola Roberts all in tow it was hard not to feel the anticipation of the fashion forward collections waiting to parade the catwalks.

Topshop Unique: AW 13

Every season we see a new Topshop Show Space unveiled at Fashion Week. This time is was the chance for the Tate Modern to shine. The concrete background was perfect for the boyish charm we see so often during the Topshop Unique shows.

The show began with model of the moment Cara Delevingne in a edgy oversized long-line bomber jacket married with a beautiful patent leather skirt and cute knitted crop top. Models outfitted in black outwear with hints of blood red followed, whilst heavy knits with softer flippy skirts showed a juxtaposition in texture. This soon turned to soft pretty pink hues, for sating dresses and androgynous tailoring.

Topshop Unique doing what they do best, but with a bit more edge and a little hint of glamour. One of My Favourite Shows so far this season, take a look at my favourite looks below;

LFW: Day 1

There is so much to take in during Fashion Week and on opening day we saw so many wonderful sights.....Below are a couple of my favourite shows from today. Enjoy!

Moschino Cheap and Chic: AW 13

This may be Moschino's Diffusion line, but the catwalk offered nothing but luxury. Moschino Cheap and Chic absolutely killed it with pretty pinks juxtaposed with black patent and leopard print to form a girly Gothic vibe.

David Koma: AW 13

The show unfolded with a futuristic theme; models paraded the catwalk in sculptured creations, using music as inspiration. Outwear and dresses followed the shape of an old record and played magically as a pop of colour was injected in the form of bright red. Fantastically futuristic and going against the idea of Koma as the body con man, we see a new direction that is perfectly paying off.

NY Highlights!

So New York is over and London has already began. There was so many highlights for me, so I decided to show you my absolute favourites, which was really difficult as I loved so much!!!

J.CREW

Womenswear Designer Tom Mora, has the difficult task of creating something new each season for the established J.Crew brand. This season we see another spin on preppy sportswear, this time mixed with Moroccan inspired patterns and sharp tailoring. The mix of texture, jewels and brocade resembled something you might see on a Marrakech market stall. Once again bowled over by J.Crew's ability to add a little spark to simple boyish silhouettes.

THE ROW

For their fourth Fall Show, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen wanted a space with a little more Character, hence they decided on a Upper East Side Apartment. Each look was layered first with a cream high neck onesie. Obviously this was a little more chic than the ones we have seen on the high street! This formed a uniform approach as each model was sent down the catwalk. Lots of black and muted tones of ivory and dark green were used on oversized tailoring and knitwear took place along side satin evening gowns. The easiness of the collection was a resemblance of past seasons collections, but with a little more glamour. Gorgeous!

VICTORIA BECKHAM

Victoria Beckham chose the New York Library as her location for her fifth anniversary collection. Coats were the first thing to hit the catwalk and oh boy were they good. Checks finished with electric blue pony skin were bang on trend and oh so chic. Knitwear made it's first appearance in the form of turtleneck sweaters in yellow and blue. Black tailoring finished of the statement VB look to perfection, while the mix of colour and texture opened a new avenue for the evolving Beckham brand.

MARC BY MARC JACOBS

70s Chic was the theme echoing down the sophisticated Marc By Marc Jacobs catwalk this Fall. Eclecticlly patterned Jumpsuits and brightly coloured tailoring was simple, but chic. MxM was as fun as always and the hair and make-up added even more to the magical effect we are so used to seeing.

3.1 PHILLIP LIM

Bikers and their Girlfriends would have loved Lim's collection this season. There was Leather, in every type of garment; Dresses, Boots, Sweatshirts and even Vests. All finished of with some incredible Outwear in the form of patchwork sheepskin coats with contrasting lapels and leather trims. The Styling of layers of texture and fabrics somehow made a rough subject chic. Perfection.

Trend Watch: CheckMate!

When the SS13 Collections were presented to us back in September  we saw the revival of the check. There was tartan, Monochrome, oversizing and more variations of the classic trend. This time we saw a cleaner and more sophisticated way of wearing the pattern Burberry made so famous so long ago. I'm an admirer of this trend and have quite a few staple check pieces myself, so I decided to put together a little moodboard of my favourite pieces which I dream of getting my hands on this season....money permitting of course!
